While the Rapid Action Force (RAF) personnel from the CRPF 105 Vellalore Battalion were involved in relief and rescue operations in the flood-hit Kerala, the Family Welfare Association of CRPF in Jammu, Kashmir, Srinagar and North West (Chandigarh) sectors despatched 20 tonnes of relief material to Kerala.

The consignment was flagged off by Manu Bhatnagar, President of the CRPF Family Welfare Association in Jammu and Kashmir.

The relief materials includes ready to eat food items, biscuits, food packets containing rice, pulses, spices, salt, cooking oil, milk powder and 9,000 bottles of mineral water, medicines, T- Shirts and foot wear.

While flagging off the consignment, Dr. Manu Bhatnagar said that the CRPF families stand by the people of Kerala devastated by the deluge.

She also affirmed that the families also shoulder the responsibility of social service. She also appealed the Family Welfare units across the country to send relief consignments to Kerala.

Smita Sindhu, Zonal Head, CWA, J & K Zone, Anita, Zonal Vice Head and Shiani Chauhan Sector Head, CWA Jammu and other officers were present, a release said.

Kairali donates ₹ 35.45 lakh

The Kairali Cultural Association has handed over a cheque of ₹ 35.45 lakh collected from its members towards the “The Chief Minister's Disaster Relief Fund”. The cheque was handed over to the Kerala Chief Minister Pinayari Vijayan recently.
