Quiz contest: two enters national finals

P. Shriman and R. Avnish from Vidya Niketan Public School, Coimbatore, are the winners of the city level Discovery Kids and WWF – India wildlife quiz and will be participating in the national finals in New Delhi.

The theme of this year’s Discovery Kids & WWF-India’s Wild Wisdom Quiz 2015 is soil, based on the UN declaration of the year 2015 as the International Year of Soils. The quiz, attended by more than 25,000 students across India, is being supported by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. It was held in 15 cities.

The second leg of the quiz for high school students will be held on from October 31 to November 7 at three levels.

Rahul Johri of Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said: “Discovery Kids and WWF-India’s Wild Wisdom Quiz aims to sensitise children to protecting our environment and wildlife for a better tomorrow.” Radhika Suri, director, Environment Education, WWF-India, spoke.
