There are just two more days to go for The Hindu MetroPlus Lifestyle Show, which brings together a range of products under one roof. Have you checked it out yet?
At RK Photo Centre’s floral frames and gold art stall, take in the sight of numerous flowers that bloom behind a glass casing. The bright flowers are real and have been worked upon in Sri Lanka. They also have a range of works covered in gold foil. The one of galloping horses is a beauty and the one with a peacock, a lesson in fine craftsmanship.
If you are looking for artefacts with a classy touch, check out the products at Handworkz from Maharashtra. They specialise in terracotta vases with Madhubani and Warli work on them, clocks embellished with similar paintings and Dokra craft, trays and table lamps. Taposh Pyne of the store says the work is executed by tribal artists.
“You know, we hardly meet them; all instructions are given over the phone. But, they grasp a new idea really fast. With creations such as this, tribal traditions get a contemporary twist.”
While at the show, visit the stall put up by Asia Tea Enterprises, Ketti, and sample its range of instant teas.
The friendly staff serves small cups of piping hot green lemon tea and regular lemon tea.
Pouches of instant tea, lemon green tea, Diabetea, and Slimtea are sold under the Mokshaa brand.
If you are lactose intolerant, you must visit the stall put up near the food court by Chennai-based Soyvita. They sell a range of soy protein drink powders that need to be mixed with hot or cold water to make a nourishing beverage. It is available in flavours such as regular (sweetened), spinach and green tea.
The exhibition concludes on Tuesday. Ample parking space is available. There is a free shuttle service from Avanashi Road to the venue. The co-sponsors for the event are Prestige and Avathar Jewellers. The radio partner is Radio City and the channel partner is Utv. The event partner is I Ads and Events.
