‘Private schools violate Government norms’

June 01, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:34 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Many private and minority-run schools in the district were making admissions in violation of the Government norms, alleged Communist Party of India MLA M. Arumugam.

Admission denied

In a letter to the Chief Minister, the Valparai MLA said that many schools were denying Class XI admissions to students who had taken Class X from their school. Sometimes, even students who had scored in excess of 45 were being denied admissions, allegedly to make way for students from other schools who were willing to pay donations.

He said that this was in violation of the Government norms. He urged the School Education Department officials to crack the whip on such schools.
