Preparations are in full swing for the jallikattu to be held at Alagumalai in Tirupur on Sunday.
According to the organisers, around 500 bulls and 600 tamers have registered for the event so far and the process was continuing on Tuesday.
However, tamers from Tirupur and nearby localities will be not permitted to take part in the jallikattu.
S. Palanisamy of Alagumalai Jallikattu Welfare Association said that tamers within 20 km radius of Alagumalai have been restricted from participating as the sport was not common to Kongu region. Bulls famous for their jallikattu performance in other districts will also be part of the event at Alagumalai.
