Police organise sports and games for residents

The Kuniyamuthur police organised sports and games for children and residents of Kovaipudur, Siruvani Nagar, Vaigai Nagar, Kulathupalayam and Sivan Nagar at Kovaipudur on Wednesday, as part of Pongal celebrationa.

It was organised in an effort to build a cordial relationship with the residents.

Shot put, volleyball, tug of war, and lucky corner were among the 15 different events in which about 300 persons - including nearly 200 children - from 36 resident welfare associations enthusiastically participated. Coimbatore City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan, Deputy Commissioner (Law and Order) Pravesh Kumar and Assistant Commissioner (South) G.S. Anitha distributed prizes to the winners.

The Saibaba Colony and Ramanathapuram police have announced kabadi tournaments in their jurisdiction, while the Saravanampatty and Selvapuram police would be hosting volley ball tournaments.

Similar sports and games were also organised by a few other police stations in the city over the last two days.

Sports and games for police personnel were conducted on the P.R.S. Ground on Tuesday and Wednesday. Police men and women attached to the Armed Reserve, Law and Order, Traffic, Crime in the city participated in it.

Games for children of police personnel and their families will be conducted on Thursday and Friday.
