Police on alert along Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border

Police have issued prohibitory orders in a one kilometre radius around the High Court; 500 policemen are expected to be on duty.

Reinforcements from Tamil Nadu Special Police Battalions are being mobilised in large numbers in Salem and Namakkal districts for maintaining law and order. On the Tamil Nadu-Karnataka border in Hosur, necessary precautions will be taken, Superintendent of Police. P. Kannammal told The Hindu . She, however, said there would no special arrangements on Monday and police deployment would be normal. 

At Erode, where the district shares borders with Karnataka near Bannari and Bargur hills, police are in a state of preparedness. 

In Udhagamandalam, where the summer tourist crowd is steadily swelling, police are not taking any chances.

Anticipating trouble by the presence of AIADMK cadres, the police have issued prohibitory orders in an one kilometre radius around the High Court. About 500 policemen are expected to be on duty to avoid trouble.
