People asked to download app for weather report

The district administration has asked the people to download the TN SMART app to know the weather report and rainfall details so as to be prepared to face any natural calamity.

Collector C. Kathiravan said that the Tamil Nadu System for Multi-hazard Potential Impact Assessment and emergency response tracking) app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and people can know weather forecast, observed rainfall, satellite images, vulnerable locations and also view disaster alerts on natural calamities. Weather bulletins are available district wise, taluk wise and vulnerable locations can be spotted.

Also, registered users will be sent warning SMS before calamities. Mr. Kathiravan said that all government employees, school and college students, NGOs, and public can download it and utilise its services.

Also, one can report emergencies to the State and district helpline numbers at 1070 and 1077 respectively.
