Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam treasurer M.K. Stalin who commenced his Namakku Naame tour in Coimbatore Rural District on Thursday said that he was neither worried nor concerned about criticisms by other political parties about his tour.

He began his tour from Mettupalayam and visited Periyanaickenpalayam where he met and interacted with workers in the handloom, glass works and painting sectors. Stalin also went on a two-km walk along the Mettupalayam – Coimbatore Road from Annaji Rao Road section where he interacted with the merchants.

He paid homage to the late farmers’ association leader Narayanasamy Naidu at his memorial in Vaiyampalayam. Responding to a plea from the family members of Narayanasamy Naidu, Mr. Stalin said that the DMK, when it assumes power, would take steps to construct a mani mandapam for the late leader. He also visited a software firm at Saravanampatty on the outskirts of the city and interacted with software professionals. He said that the AIADMK Government lacked vision, plans or road map for development of software firms and said that during the last four year rule of the AIADMK, many software firms were on the verge of closure. He said that during his tour, people lamented about increasing crimes and corruption in the State.

Stalin is scheduled to tour areas in Pollachi and Coimbatore city on Friday.
