No nominations received on second day in Erode

No nominations were received for the Erode Lok Sabha constituency for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

Election officials said that nominations can be filed with the Collector C. Kathiravan, who is the Returning Officer for the constituency, at his office from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 21, 22, 25 and 26.

Officials have asked the political parties to obtain prior permission from the officials concerned for conducting public meetings and use of vehicles. A release asked the parties to submit applications 48 hours prior to the meetings.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission has appointed Election Expenditure Observers for the six Assembly constituencies that come under the Erode Lok Sabha segment. G.K. Prathan (mobile no. 95853-86516) will look after Erode East, Erode West and Modakurichi, while Shashi Kant Kushwaha (mobile no. 95853-87733) will look after Kumarapalayam, Dharapuram and Kangeyam.

Both the observers held separate meetings with various surveillance teams of their respective constituencies.
