A newborn girl has been abandoned at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. It was placed at the cradle, kept at the hospital’s Labour Ward by the District Child Protection Unit. The baby will now be placed under the care of the District Child Welfare Committee.
Hospital Dean S. Revwathy handed over the child to District Child Protection Office G. Vijaya here on Monday. This is the fourth baby to be abandoned at the CMCH cradle. The baby was born on the night of December 31. The father had left the hospital before delivery and the mother also left without informing anyone. Officials suspect that the address they had provided during admission to be false.
