MSMEs seek Centre’s help

Micro units here have asked the Union Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to provide financial support through simplified process for bank loans, moratorium for units under financial stress and reduce the interest rate for bank loans.

Representatives of these units submitted petitions to the Union Minister for MSMEs Kalraj Mishra at a meeting here recently.

Tamil Nadu Association of Cottage and Tiny Enterprises has said that the National Procurement Policy should be extended to private companies too. The micro units should get loan at prime lending rate and the Union Government should develop industrial estates for the micro sector.

Coimbatore and Tirupur Districts Micro and Cottage Entrepreneurs’ Association has appealed to the Government to provide interest subsidy for loans taken to purchase land and build work sheds under its cluster development project, start a public sector unit in this region, make procurement mandatory from micro units under the procurement policy.
