MRB exam held

As many as 4,900 candidates appeared for the Medical Recruitment Board examination conducted on Sunday to fill the vacancies in the post of nurses.

According to officials, a total of 5,186 candidates had registered to take the examination in Coimbatore, of which 286 candidates failed to turn up. As much as 94.5 per cent of the registered candidates attended the examination.

The examination was held at nine venues in the city. The district administration had appointed 18 principal invigilators to supervise the examinations. Special bus services were also arranged from various parts of the district to the venues.
