Ravi, president, and Lakshminarayan, vice-president of Siddhapudur Corporation Higher Secondary School Alumni Association.

Mr. Soundararajan said, “it is high time that corporates start looking at CSR initiatives as not just funding projects but as a continuous handholding approach with long term commitment in addressing critical social issues.”

General welfare activities undertaken in development of needy government schools include construction of additional classrooms and laboratories based on actual requirements and the creation of classrooms for slow learners, besides ensuring availability of clean drinking water on a continuous basis and maintenance of hygienic toilets.

In addition to the availability of government teachers, this approach will also engage required teachers to maintain the teacher-student ratio of 1:30. These teachers will also take the additional responsibility of coaching identified slow learners from standards 1 to 5. Effort will be made to establish smart classes, computer labs, and providing notebooks, writing materials and bags for needy students. Educational scholarship scheme “Shiksha” for meritorious students and to imbibe honesty among students without supervision, “Honest Store” will be set up in all the adopted schools.
