The Aam Aadmi Party, Coimbatore unit, has urged the district administration to install more streetlights on the Eachanari flyover.

The party’s district secretary S. Mohammad Rafi submitted a petition during the public grievances meeting at the Coimbatore Collectorate on Monday.

The party said that streetlights have not been installed on the western and eastern parts of the flyover, even though three years had lapsed since it was constructed.

Residents of Idampalayam, near Mettupalayam, in the district submitted a petition at the meeting seeking basic amenities and infrastructure in the locality.

The residents said that more than 100 families were living there for more than seven years.
