Two Class V students of a private school near Udumalpet were rescued by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the Coimbatore International Airport on Tuesday. Sources with the CISF said that the two girls, aged 10, were found stranded at the airport late on Tuesday.
When enquired, the girls told the security personnel that their parents were not affectionate towards them, but only towards their younger siblings. As their parents were planning to shift them to a hostel, which they did not like, they wanted to study abroad.
The girls told the security personnel that after Tuesday’s classes, they came to the airport by a bus with the pocket money they had.
The CISF personnel handed over the girls to the Peelamedu police. Police said that the parents of the girls were informed about the rescue and were on the way to Coimbatore. A parent of one of the girls was with the police department, the sources said.
