Missing girl found murdered near Kallar

A 21-year-old girl from Saibaba Colony, who had been missing for a week, was found murdered near Kallar on Monday. Body of Ruzwana, daughter of Hyder, was found in a decomposed state.

The girl had been missing since October 16 for which Saibaba Colony police registered a case on October 19 and started investigation.

Prasanth (26), a native of Saravanampatti and an employee at a software company at Tidel Park, landed in police net when they examined the call details report of Ruzwana. The police found that he had contacted her on several occasions including the day on which she went missing.

According to police, Prasanth was in a relationship with the girl and had taken her to Kallar on October 16 in the pretext of a leisure trip. The police said that the accused confessed to having killed the girl by pushing her down from a sloppy portion near Kallar following a quarrel. He had also allegedly attacked the girl with a rock in her head and left the body there.

Prasanth was taken to Kallar on Monday from where the police retrieved the body of Ruzwana. The body was sent to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for post-mortem. The police said that case registered for the missing of the girl will be altered into a murder case. The police are waiting for details of the post-mortem.
