Mentally unstable woman, 3 children rescued

A mentally unstable woman was rescued along with her three children in the city on Wednesday.

The woman was spotted along with an infant and two children at the Omni bus stand on Sathyamangalam Road.

The two children were in school uniform. The woman was found beating the six-month old female child.

The public intervened and took custody of the children. They alerted the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the City Police.

Police investigations revealed that the woman was Sarojini (28), wife of Murugesan (30). Her family has been informed.

The woman and the children have been lodged at the Corporation shelter. Further investigations are on.
