A drunken brawl between two persons ended in a murder near Sholurmattam in Udhagamandalam on Friday night. The police identified the victim as Unnikrishnan (47).
On Friday, Unnikrishnan gave a party for his friend. It was said that one of his friend Samy (45) was upset as he was not invited for the party. Samy got drunk and entered into an argument with Unnikrishnan and stabbed Unnikrishnan to death. The police arrested Samy on Saturday. After he was produced in court he was lodged in the Coimbatore Central Prison.
Attempt to murder
In another incident in Coimbatore, R.S. Puram Police arrested two persons for attempting to murder a man near a liquor outlet on the Marudhamalai Road.
