Man held for damaging idol

The police have arrested Rahman alias Inthus Rahman (20) of Malta in West Bengal who works as a daily wage labourer for allegedly damaging a portion of a nandhi idol at the Pechiamman temple in Vellalore on Sunday night. He was stated to be in an inebriated condition

The police said that he was found inside the temple when the door was opened in the morning. He was booked under section 3 of the Tamil Nadu Public Property (Prevention of Damage and Loss) Act and lodged in the borstal school at Pollachi.

Flesh trade

The police have arrested C. Vijayakumar (25) of Virudhunagar, and P. Senthil (34) of Bengaluru, for organising flesh trade on the Vilankuruchi Road at the outskirts of the city. The police rescued three women from West Bengal and another of Sundarapuram.

The car, motor bike, and mobile phones that they used to attract customers, and Rs. 35,000 were seized.
