Man arrested for murder

A man from Mudalipalayam, who was charged with murdering another man allegedly in the guise of transgender two years ago in Tiruppur, was arrested on Wednesday. According to police, N. Ibrahim aka Banu (35), posed as transgender and demanded money from Rajendran (60), near a Tasmac outlet on May 28, 2017.

As he refused, Ibrahim strangled and pushed Rajendran on the ground, leading to the latter hitting a rock and dying on the spot, police said. Tiruppur North police alleged that the accused was “not a transgender” as he was married and had two children.

Lawyer commits suicide

A lawyer committed suicide in Vengamedu on Wednesday. Police said that B. Mohanapriya (26) hanged herself in her house due to personal reasons.
