Tirupur City Police arrested a Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) employee in Tirupur on Saturday on the charges of instigating suicide of a temporary employee of the department S. Thilakavathi (32), on Friday.

The woman, a resident of Lakshmi Nagar in Tirupur, was working as junior assistant on temporary basis at the Pichampalayam Pudur Kotai Eswaran Temple.

She was found hanging in her house on Friday.

Based on a complaint lodged by her husband Sridhar, alleging that she took the extreme step due to harassment by her department officials, police quizzed a few HR&CE officials and staff and arrested Ramesh (41) of Pichampalayam Pudur on Saturday.

He was booked for allegedly instigating her suicide by spreading false information about her and pushing her into stress. Further investigations are on.
