Lok Adalat: 1,828 cases settled

A total of 1,828 cases were settled and a sum of ₹10.14 crore was awarded to litigants as settlements at the Lok Adalat held at the Coimbatore Court on Saturday.

As many as 9,021 cases – transport disputes, petty crimes, cheque fraud, motor vehicle accidents, civil disputes, and labour disputes - were considered at the adalat.

The adalat was held under the supervision of third additional district judge and the Chairman of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) C. Sanjai Baba and coordinated by DLSA secretary and sub-judge R. Rajeswari.

Presiding officer of Principal Labour Court J. Flora, additional district judges J. Sridevi, T. Malar Valantina, presiding officer of Additional Labour Court A. Mani Mozhi, chief judicial magistrate S. Nagarajan, special court judge V. John Mino, principal subordinate judge S. Malarmannan, special sub-judge R. Venkatasubramanian, fourth judicial magistrate R. Satheeshkumar, retired judicial officers S. A. Sreeramulu, R. Premkumar, V. Ramasamy, R. Dhandapani and advocates took part in the adalat.
