Language papers turn out easy

Students coming out of the examination centres on the second day of higher secondary board examination were all smiles as language paper II was easy as they had expected. “Both the Tamil papers were easy. The questions were as we had expected and we got enough time to finish writing answers and go though the answer sheet thoroughly,” said S. Subbalakshmi, K. Revathi and R. Geetha of Corporation Higher Secondary School, Siddhapudur. According to R. Parthiban of City Corporation Higher Secondary School, the power cuts were not scheduled during study-time at night for the last three days and this had helped him to prepare for the examinations without any inconvenience. “ I got enough time to finish the examinations. English papers will also be the same, but, other papers will be for 200 marks and for those papers I will have to manage time carefully,” he said. “Students said that they found French paper easy. Usually, most of the students find language and English papers easy. The school had scored 98 per cent results in Plus-Two board examinations last year and this year also we expect good results” said S. Somasundari, head mistress, Corporation Higher Secondary School Ramakrishnapuram. Generally, Corporation schools scored 80-90 per cent results in Plus-Two examinations, she said Harihara Sudan N, and G. Kaviarsan, said that they expected to score above 1000 marks in the examination. “Accountancy and Commerce papers are tough. We have to prepare well for those papers,” they said.

According to T. Rajendhiran, Chief Education Officer, Coimbatore, the examinations were being held smoothly in all the centres. A total of 36,996 students were appearing for the examination at 71 centres.

Around 20,100 boys and 20,194 girls from 392 schools in Coimbatore Education District and 4,818 boys and 4,677 girls from 90 schools in Pollachi Education District were appearing for the examinations, he said.
