Isha gets accreditation to start community college

Isha Education Charitable Trust has got accreditation from Tamil Nadu Open University to start a community college in Coimbatore to provide skill-based training.

According to a statement from Isha Foundation, the college will be offering 14 vocational diploma courses to rural, underprivileged youngsters and will increase the scope based on the inclinations of the rural community.

Diploma courses in Welding Technology, Industrial Fitter, Beautician, Fashion Design and Garment Making, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician, Automotive Service Technician, Plumbing, Desktop Publishing Operator, Computer Applications, Computer Hardware Servicing, General Duty Assistant, Multi-Cuisine Cook, Mechanic (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation) and Early Childhood Care and Education would be provided, the statement said.

Isha had tied up with local industries to offer internship for the students, and that it would tie up with more industries to create employment opportunities for them, the statement added.
