Speakers recalled Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s contribution to the Hindu culture and the nation and singers rendered his compositions at the ‘Shraddhanjali’ programme the Arsha Vidya Gurukulam had organised in the city on Monday.
Swami Paramatmananda of Rajkot spoke about how the Swamiji had brought together heads of various ‘Mutts’ to establish the Acharya Sabha to lend an official voice on behalf of Hinduism.
Columnist and commentator S. Gurumurthy recalled the Swamiji’s efforts in promoting inter-faith dialogue and his efforts to reach out to the Jewish clergy.
B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, chairman, Coimbatore Kendra, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, P.R. Ramasubrahmaneya Rajha, M. Manickam of Sakthi Group and Swami Aiswaryananda also spoke of Swamiji and his contributions.

Earlier, singers Anuradha Sriram and Sriram Prasuram sang three compositions of Swamiji.
