The petitions filed by the public at the weekly grievance redress meeting on Mondays will be resolved within 15 days, said K. Rajamani, who took charge as Coimbatore District Collector on Monday.

Grievances, which require more than two weeks of time to address, will be sorted out at the earliest, he said.

“To ensure effective disposal of grievances of the public, officials from all the departments will be made to take part in the redress meeting. Special focus will be given to address the issues of pensioners, ex-servicemen and transgenders,” said Mr. Rajamani, who was formerly Tiruchi District Collector.

With the district witnessing the onset of summer, the district administration will make efforts to ensure adequate supply of water throughout the district.

“Coimbatore is known as a district with high levels of living standards. As the District Collector, I will strive to bring more facilities for the people of Coimbatore,” he said.

Mr. Rajamani has replaced T.N. Hariharan, who was appointed as the Special Secretary to the Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.
