The State Government should implement the Salem - Chennai green corridor project only after gaining the confidence of the public, said Tamil Manila Congress leader G.K. Vasan here on Wednesday.
Mr. Vasan said the State Government should explain to the people the pros and cons of the project. Projects opposed by people should not be implemented.
Mr. Vasan condemned the Karnataka’s delay in appointing its member to the Cauvery Management Board and said that challenging the law was unacceptable.
“The Union Government, instead of being a mute spectator, should pressurise Karnataka to appoint its member,” he added.
He said that flaws cited by the Opposition parties against the AIADMK in the Assembly does not fully reflect the real mood of the people. He wanted both the Union and State Governments to take steps to prevent the proposed nationwide lorry strike.
