G Square announces launch of smart city project

G Square will launch on Thursday (March 31) an integrated, smart city project G Square City, spread over 120 acres on Coimbatore bypass.

Chief Executive Officer of G Square, Eshwar N, told presspersons here on Wednesday that the project will have 1,663 residential plots and 26 commercial plots with over 150 amenities.

The basic infrastructure such as roads and street lights are in place and the other amenities will be completed in the next six to seven months. Almost 1,000 residential plots are already sold. G Square will maintain the amenities free of cost for five years and is in talks with educational institutions and hospitals to have facilities in the integrated project. The commercial plots earmarked will be standalone outlets. Provisions will be made to have a helipad too.

Some of the attractions in the G Square City project include creation of leisure, fun, fitness, W-Fi and meet and greet zones. “We are using technology to make life secure for those who will live there,” he said. Thus, there will be “futuristic features” such as artificial Intelligence based monitoring, visitor management system, licence plate reader for vehicles, Internet of Things-based monitoring for power, fire, and security systems, and a 50,000 sq.ft clubhouse.

“Our investments and interest in Coimbatore have grown because of the response. In the last nine months, the sales registered in Coimbatore is to the tune of ₹700 crore in different projects. We will continue to invest and do a lot of projects in Coimbatore,” he said. The smart city project that is coming up on Coimbatore bypass will be replicated soon in Chennai and Bengaluru.

Thiyagarajan Mani, Head - Sales, said the company has totally 23 ongoing projects in Chennai, four in Coimbatore, and one in Hosur and is expanding to Bengaluru. G Square Housing registered ₹1,000 crore sales between July and December last year and plans to achieve ₹ 2,000 crore sales between January and June this year.
