Four persons booked

Four persons were booked here on Thursday for assaulting the accused in the Thudiyalur case.

The Thudiyalur police were accompanying Santhosh Kumar, who is in custody for raping and murdering a seven-year-old girl on the outskirts of Coimbatore two weeks ago, when he was thrashed by four persons outside the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital. The accused was brought under tight security for a potency test based on the court’s direction, the police said.

The attackers were booked in Race Course Police Station after a complaint from the Thudiyalur police.

The identity of the attackers had not been established yet as they were reviewing the video clipping of the attack, the police said.
