Four held for stealing ₹ 46 lakh from private finance firm

Dharmapuri police on Thursday arrested four persons in connection with the robbery of ₹46,49,800 from a private finance firm here.

On May 5, unidentified persons stole ₹ 46,49,800 from the lockers of a private finance firm in Pomitti town here. Five special teams were formed to nab the culprits.

According to police, on Wednesday night, during vehicle checks within Pomitti police limits, police arrested two persons, M. Senthil and K. Elavarasan, who were travelling on a motorcycle under suspicious circumstances.

On inquiry, police found that the accused were involved in the robbery. Detailed inquiry revealed the involvement of their accomplices P. Perumal, R. Chinnasami, and S .Sumathi.

Police arrested Chinasami, Sumathi, Senthil and Elavarasan and remanded them in judicial custody. Police also seized a car used for the crime and recovered ₹ 2.65 lakh from Sumathi and Chinasami in relation with the case.
