Thudiyalur Police have arrested Babu Raj from Odisha and Thulasimani of Thudiyalur on charges of murdering the latter’s 67-year-old mother-in-law Bakiyalakshmi. The police said that soon after a complaint was lodged on September 28 on Bakiyalakshmi’s death, they had invoked the section related to unnatural death to investigate the complaint.

The post-mortem, however, revealed that the woman was murdered and the investigation pointed to the involvement of Raj and Thulasimani, who they arrested on Wednesday. The police said that Thulasimani had engaged Raj to finish off her mother-in-law due to a property dispute.
