Four fined for poaching

The Gudalur Forest Division officers have fined four persons for hunting down a barking deer.

According to sources, following a tip off Divisional Forest Officer Tejasvi received, Forest Guards Vijayakumar and Rajeshkumar conducted inquiries in Uppati village in Gudalur and zeroed in on Ravichandran, who was found cooking the deer meat.

Based on his information during interrogation, the Guards also held and fined his accomplices Sathyamurthy, Varghese and Ilango. They fined each of them Rs. 10,000, the sources said.
