M. Gopal Shankar, Chief Engineer, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Coimbatore, has been elected chairman of the Indian Water Works Association's Coimbatore Centre, at a meeting held on November 2 here.

The other office-bearers are: P. Ganeshwaran, Executive Engineer, Coimbatore Corporation, - vice chairman, P. Gopalakrishnan, Executive Engineer, TWAD Board, Coimbatore – honorary secretary, A. Lakshmanan, Executive Engineer, Coimbatore Corporation, - honorary joint secretary, S.V. Jhonson, Assistant Engineer, TWAD Board, - honorary treasurer.
