DVAC raid at PU office

The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) sleuths raided the Panchayat Union (PU) office in Kolathur and seized ₹ 5.06 lakh from the office.

According to officials, a joint raid is being conducted by the DVAC and District Inspection Cell officials at Kolathur Panchayat Union office following a tip off that the officials are collecting bribe from engineers and contractors for Deepavali. During the raid, they seized ₹ 5.06 lakh that was allegedly taken by the officials here on Thursday alone. The office staff and 12 contractors are being interrogated, according to the officials.
