District Collector reviews measures taken to prevent outbreak of communicable diseases

District Collector S.A. Raman, on Tuesday, reviewed the measures taken to prevent outbreak of communicable diseases in areas under the Corporation limits.

Along with City Health Officer K. Parthibhan and other senior Corporation officials, he inspected water tanks in houses and commercial buildings in Hasthampatti and Sooramangalam.

He met the residents and urged them to hand over unused items to Corporation sanitary workers. Corporation officials were instructed to urge land owners clean their vacant lands in Corporation limits. The owner of a house under construction at Chinnapachetti Colony here was levied a fine of ₹ 10,000 for not clearing construction debris.

According to officials, nearly 2,000 sanitary workers, 60 malaria workers, 60 sanitary supervisors, 700 mosquito larvae removers have been deployed across the four zones.
