Discharge from Stanley Reservoir increased

The discharge from Stanley Reservoir was increased to 27,500 cusecs from Tuesday morning.

According to Public Works Department officials, at 8 a.m., water level at the reservoir was 120.05 ft. The storage was 93,550 mcft and inflow to the dam was 27,000 cusecs. The discharge into the river was increased from 25,000 cusecs to 27,500 cusecs on Tuesday, and 600 cusecs was released via East-West canal. The water was being released through Dam and Tunnel power house and 16 gates at Ellis Saddle surplus gates.

The water level at the Stanley Reservoir in Mettur attained full reservoir level on October 23 at 6.15 a.m. for the third time this season. On Tuesday, Ramamoorthy, Chief Engineer of PWD, Trichy zone, visited the dam for monsoon inspections. He inspected the water spread area, Ellis Saddle surplus gates and the reservoir.
