Video programmes to create awareness about dengue and other viral diseases were held at 46 places in Tirupur district from Tuesday to Friday with the help of Directorate of Information and Public Relation vehicles from five Western districts.

According to an official release, vehicles from Coimbatore, Tirupur, Erode, Namakkal and Salem were used in this campaign. The videos featured film personalities Sivakumar, Vivek and Karthik. The vehicles were stationed at the Collectorate, Golden Nagar, Ward 52 (Srinivasa Nagar), Ward 53 (Krishna Nagar), and other areas. The district administration requested the public to keep their surrounding free of garbage and stagnant water, which act as breeding sources for dengue virus-carrying mosquitoes.

Tirupur Collector K. Govindaraj sought the public’s cooperation with the Government’s efforts to maintain hygiene and sanitation.
