Tamil Nadu Students Association on Monday staged a demonstration near the Collectorate protesting against the practice of discrimination of members of listed communities.

Two tumblers

Led by Lawyer N. Paneerselvam, the activists' alleged continuance of discrimination of the members of listed communities at tea shops, hair stylists' shops and earmarking of separate burial ground for the members of listed communities besides denial of entry into temples.

The demonstrators accused the police and the administration of having failed to act on the earlier representations and alleged that such discrimination was happening right in front of the houses of two legislators.

Discriminatory practices such as adoption of two tumblers, separate places for the dalit people to sit and have their food and denial of hair cut was prevalent in Kinathukkadavu, Pollachi, Palladam and Karamadai unions.
