January 30, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:32 am IST - COIMBATORE:

A controversy broke out at the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital on Thursday over a press meet conducted to announce the commissioning of a liquid oxygen plant.

While all the reporters were invited over the phone by the Assistant Resident Medical Officer R. Soundravel on Wednesday to come for a press briefing on Thursday relating to the commissioning of the plant, the Dean S. Revwathy told the reporters that she was unaware the press meet.

Aggrieved over this, the reporters rang up Dr. Soundravel who did not answer the calls despite repeated attempts.

Confusion

This led to a lot of confusion among reporters and photographers.

Finally, the photographers managed to locate the plant and take a photograph. The reporters were briefed over the phone by hospital officials.
