Congestion at two places to be removed

May 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:36 am IST - COIMBATORE:

Coimbatore Corporation, along with the State Highways Department and the National Highways, will try to remove congestions at two places in the city, said Mayor P. Rajkumar.

Officials have been asked to remove encroachments, if any, at the eastern end of the Big Bazaar Street, near the railway underpass.

Land owners will be asked to provide space to ease traffic congestion along the stretch, Mr. Rajkumar said.

Steps will be taken to widen the Sathyamangalm Road stretch between the Textool Bridge and Maniakarampalayam Road Junction.

The civic body has started the survey work.

The corporation was working with agencies concerned to have the traffic problem sorted out at the earliest.
