Collector comes to aid of man injured in accident

Dharmapuri Collector S. Malarvizhi on Wednesday came to the aid of a grievously injured man, after his fellow motorcyclist was fatally knocked down near Maravadi junction, along Krishnagiri-Dharmapuri National Highway.

The Collector was returning from Periampatty after supervising Kudimaramathu works, when a motorcycle was knocked down by a car along the highway near Maravadi junction on the other side of the highway. A crowd had gathered around the injured man, Madhu (55) while the second man, Raji (50), was feared dead.

The two were knocked down by the speeding car when they were crossing the median to get onto the other side of the highway

The Collector stepped out of her vehicle and crossed the highway to where the victims lay.

)The injured man was bleeding from the head, and the Collector immediately called for an ambulance. As it was 10 minutes away, the Collector’s put the injured man in the Public Relations Officer’s jeep, along with two police constables who were called to the spot.

Ms. Malarvizhi also alerted the Dean of the Dharmapuri government medical college hospital that the injured man was being rushed to the hospital for treatment.
