District Collector K. Rajamani told The Hindu that the SPCA will be revived soon.

“A meeting of the members of the body will be convened soon for the revival of SPCA. Suggestions from animal welfare organisations are also welcome,” he said.

Efforts will also be taken to prevent straying of large animals like cattle, donkeys and horses by imposing fine on their owners.

He added that a cattle pound was set up to deal with stray cattle menace in Tiruchi while serving as District Collector.
