Eera Nenjam, charitable trust organised Deepavali celebrations for those residing at the Corporation Night Shelter for orphans and destitute at R.S. Puram in the city.

When the entire city was busy celebrating the festival of lights, Siragugal Trust and Eera Nenjam celebrated Deepavali on a different note with the orphans and destitutes.

Siragugal Trust, an initiative by the alumni of Coimbatore Institute of Technology, celebrated Deepavali at Sharanalayam orphanage and provided lunch to the children. Eera Nenjam came forward to embrace the inmates of Corporation Night Shelter in R.S. Puram with the warmth of care by providing more than 70 people a neat, clean look and a good meal on Monday. The next day, they took around 50 children from orphanage to celebrate Deepavali with the aged people at an old-age home, said its anchor Mahendran.
