Bird hit delays flight

Nearly 100 passengers on board the Air Arabia’s Sharjah – Coimbatore International flight had a narrow escape on Monday, when the flight was about to touch down at the Coimbatore International Airport around 4.30 a.m. A huge bird hit the nose of the aircraft.

Despite the damage caused to the nose portion of the aircraft, the pilot and co-pilot managed to land the aircraft safely.

The flight which was to return to Sharjah immediately was postponed. Air Arabia officials were busy in setting right the aircraft by bringing in technical teams from Bangalore.

The work continued till Monday evening. Sources said that the flight would take off on Monday night.
