Automation centre at PSG college

The PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research has signed a memorandum of understanding with Festo India Pvt. Ltd. to establish Festo Industrial Automation Centre on its campus here, says a release from the college.

L. Gopalakrishnan, managing trustee of PSG and Sons’ Charitable Trust, which runs the college, and R. Joshi, managing director, Festo Controls Pvt. Ltd, singed the agreement to establish the centre that will offer students a direct access to Festo’s industrial knowledge and technology and place them in real-life situations to help them gain experience of hi-tech components used in factory and process automation.

Mr. Gopalakrishnan spoke on the cooperation between the two institutions. Mr. Joshi said that the centre would offer training programmes for faculty and professionals as well.
