AITUC to stage State-wide protest on July 16

AITUC cadre will stage protests in all the district headquarters in the State on July 16 against the Union Budget proposals.

This was decided at a State-level meeting of the trade union held here on Wednesday. A resolution passed at the meeting said that the budget extended incentives and tax exemptions to multi-national companies and Indian corporates. The Public Sector Undertakings were key to economic growth. But the government was looking at disinvestment in these. The plan to condense the 44 labour laws into four major codes was an anti-labour move. The trade union cadre will stage protests against these proposals. Another resolution urged the Government to solve the water crisis in the State.
