Kumaraguru College of Technology will on October 15 conduct an aircraft design and aero modelling contest to pay tribute to former President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam on his birth anniversary, says a release from the institution.

Kalam's vision

The college is conducting the competition in association with SAE India as the former President had a vision for developing an indigenous passenger aircraft in India by 2020.

Panel

The contest is open for engineering college students. An eminent panel of juries will evaluate the design and based on their recommendation the college will award prizes to winners.

On the occasion, the institution will also conduct an aero modelling competition, the release adds.
