The AIADMK will win in the upcoming byelection to the Vellore Parliamentary constituency, Minister of Municipal Administration and Rural Development S.P. Velumani said here on Saturday.
After distributing laptops to students of Government Higher Secondary School at Kuniamuthur, Mr. Velumani told pressperson that Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had spoken in the Assembly about the “false promises” made by the DMK during the General Elections. “People will not be fooled again,” he said.
At another event, he told presspersons that the State Government had taken several steps to meet the water needs of Chennai. To find a permanent solution to the water scarcity in Chennai, desalination and TTRO plants would be set up. These would ensure supply of 870 mld (million litres a day).
On the Postal Department deciding to conduct tests only in English and Hindi for recruitment to various posts, he said the State Government was clear about the two-language policy in the State. It would take up with the Union Government the conduct of exams in Tamil too.
