ADGP conducts review meeting

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) for Law and Order T.K. Rajendran chaired a review meeting with police officials of this region, here, on Sunday.

It is learnt that the meeting was regarding the Maoist attack and movement of extremists in the nearby State, in the recent past.

Police sources said that the senior IPS officer reviewed security arrangements in place in the police stations in this region that were bordering Kerala.

He also reviewed the preparedness of police personnel and police strength in pockets in the districts in Western Tamil Nadu bordering Kerala.

It is learnt that he also reviewed other emerging issues in this region, before he left for Ooty to review the preparedness of the police and Special Task Force police in that district.

Inspector General of Police for West Zone K. Shankar, Coimbatore City Police Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan, IG of STF Shankar Jiwal, officials in the ranks of Deputy Inspector General of Police and Superintendent of Police of districts in the region took part.
